The Getty Center is one of those LA landmarks that locals take for granted. It is a serene temple of culture and horizonal dialation. I found my self watching The Dodos perform this past Saturday and I was overwhelmed at the audio-visual experience I was a part off. I’ve never been more distracted by the architecture and sounds of a place. So much so that I was fully engaged in my roll as a spectator and took absolutely no photos during the entire event. Usually this is the mark of poor journalism but in this instance I felt it my responsibility as a patron of culture to enjoy the atmosphere in its entirety. Afterwards I was able to snap a few photos of the entrance as the space emptied. View this as an introduction to the Getty Center and preemptory photos from a series to be completed in the weeks to come.
