1. Anderson Paak – VENICE – My man Anderson had a monster year high key. Even songs that didn’t make this record were dope (i.e. Tokimonsta’s Realla). Anderson brought something truly refreshing to our ears this year. “VENICE” was one of the albums I heard this year that everytime I turned it on I found something new to love about it. The singer, rapper and drummer made a record full of singles across thee spectrum. Ranging from the vibed out mood setters “The City” and “Might Be” to the club rager “DRUGS” to the stimulatingly bright “Miss Right”. I’m a man big on options so this album is pretty much a buffet of gems.
2. FKA Twigs – LP 1 – FKA completely dominated the artistic music world from her self directed video’s (#throughtheglass for Google) to her luxurious baby hair. This record was so dope I’m still fixing my face from the drum patterns on “Numbers”. “Two Weeks” took her to deity levels. Full textures and falsettos that are outer worldly, this album is so dope she went totally normcore and didn’t even care to name it really. LP1 yea sure call it whatever, thee music is GREAT.
